Resham Sub-Plan under MGNREGA-MP
The Resham sub-plan is being implemented in concert with the
Directorate of Sericulture with a view to creating a congenial atmosphere for
silk production to bring the rural families on a better footing. The scheme
covers the districts recommended by the Directorate of Sericulture. Under this,
mulberry saplings are planted on the private lands of the beneficiaries that
give them multiple benefits. They earn supplementary income by selling the silk
products. Gram Panchayat, Self-Help
Groups of Gram Panchayats (for non-wasteland/ forests having small and big
shrubs) and Joint Forest Management Committees (on forest lands) are the
implementation agencies.
